The Kiwanis Club of Jesup Provides Life Jacket Loaner Station in Wayne County

The Kiwanis Club of Jesup recently donated $300 to the Safe Kids of Wayne County (SKWC) to purchase materials to build the third “Life Jacket Loaner Stand” in Wayne County at Lake Grace.  The SKWC Coalition has already erected two stands in Wayne County, which includes one at Jaycee Landing and another at Pig Farm Landing, with the help of the American Legion Post 311.  The Life Jacket Loaner Stands hold child-size life-jackets, also known as personal floatation devices (PFD), which are available for boaters to use while on the water.  Georgia law requires children riding in moving water vessels to wear PFDs. Community members are welcomed to leave good condition PFDs they no longer need at the loaner stands or with the Wayne memorial Hospital Marketing Department. Wayne Memorial Hospital serves as the Lead Agency for SKWC.
