By appointment only. Hospital based car seat classes that teach parents about the proper use and installation of a car seat. Only one car seat per newborn child will be furnished.

March 6: Car Seat Inspection Station presented by Safe Kids Columbus
By appointment only. Parents and caregivers are educated on the proper use and installation of a car seat. Parents who attend the Car Seat Safety Class at the Inspection Station can receive a car seat or a booster seat for a reduced price. Only one car seat or booster seat per child will be furnished.

March 7: Child Safety Seat Class presented by Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County

Every first Wednesday of the month (except January and July), a child safety seat class is held for expectant mothers and families. The class is free but registration is required.

     Location: Essentially for Women Building, 825 Jesse Jewell Pkwy, Gainesville, GA

March 13: Teens Ride With P.R.I.D.E. ( Parents Reducing Incidents of Driver Error) presented by Safe Kids East Central
free program that helps establish a dialogue between parents and new teen drivers, prior to the 40 hours of supervised practice driving time required by law. It focuses on driver attitude, knowledge and behavior as well as Georgia licencing laws (GDL and TADRA).

March 13: Child Safety Seat Check presented by Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County

     Location: Chestnut Mountain Church, 4903 Chestnut Mountain Circle, Fowery Branch, GA

March 16: Booster Seat Education Program presented by Safe Kids Columbus
Students are educated on proper booster seat and seatbelt use.

March 16 : Child Safety Seat Class and Seat Distribution presented by Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County

Held every third Friday of the month (except May, July and October), this child safety seat class and distribution is available to parents and legal guardians who qualify for PeachCare or Medicaid. Only one car seat per child will be furnished. Registration is required.

March 17: Summer Fun Expo (theme is Summer Safety) presented by Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County

     Location: Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville, GA

     Time: 10am - 5pm

March 19: Car Seat Class presented by Safe Kids East Central
Held on the third Monday of each month. Classes teach car seat safety, education and training. Classes are taught by Child Passenger Safety Technicians from Safe Kids East Central.

Location: Children’s Medical Center Conference Center, First Floor; 1447 Harper Street, Augusta, GA 30912
Time: 9:30 a.m.-12:00 a.m.
Price: $10 Registration Fee per child (a $10 gift card can be earned if you attend the First Friday Child Safety seat inspection)

March 22: Growing Up for Girls presented by Safe Kids East Central
A quarterly program for preteen girls (ages 8-12) and their female role models, focusing on the changes that a young girl experiences as she goes through puberty. Program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

March 24: Safe Sitter Class presented by Safe Kids East Central.
This nationally recognized and award-winning curriculum teaches 11 to 13 year-olds how to handle emergencies while caring for younger children. To successfully complete the Safe Sitter program, participants have to pass a rigorous practical and written test to show that they have mastered the key concepts and have the skills necessary to handle any emergency.
