Buying the right car seat:

Keep your child in a rear-facing car seat for as long as possible - at least until they are 2 years old or older.

Once your child outgrows the rear-facing seat, it’s time to switch to a forward-facing seat.

Top Tips About Car Seat Safety

The safest way to protect your child in the car is by using the correct car seat - and making sure it’s used properly. Follow these car seat safety tips to help keep your most precious passenger safe.

Installing your car seat:

Choose either the seat belt or the lower connectors to secure your child’s car seat - both options are safe but never use them together.

Once your child is forward-facing, always use the tether along with your chosen method of installation.

Finding the right fit:

Ensure that the harness straps are positioned just at or above your child’s shoulders - this will provide your child with the highest level of protection.

Know when to change your car seat:

Check the car seat label to be sure your child is still within its weight, height, and age limits. While age matters, height and weight are the most important factors.
