Unintentional injuries are the #1 killer of kids…
…and they are preventable.
Every year in the United States, approximately 8,000 families lose a child because of a preventable injury. What is a preventable injury? It is an injury where, with the right safety measure, doesn’t have to happen or the risk of death can be minimized. When a child dies, the lives of their family and their community are changed forever.
Our goal at Safe Kids Georgia is to help families and communities to prevent unintentional injuries by promoting safe practices that protect children where they live, learn, and play. Our efforts focus on advancing health equity and providing families with support in the leading causes of death such as child passenger safety, safe infant sleep, secure firearm storage, and water safety - while making sure every family has access to the tools and resources, they need to keep their children safe and healthy.
